Summer Regrets.

Autumn turns her head

to watch, as summer

walks away.

Slowly yet her last goodbye,

regret holds back her

footsteps, as much is left

to say.

Catching up on my wanderings

Catching up on my wanderings through these halls always leads me to your writings. This is wonderful, I do appreciate the smiles your words allow, they are like sunshine in winter. Thank you for posting.

I love autumn poems, and this

I love autumn poems, and this one is beautiful.  It reminds me, also, of the autumn of 1976, a good part of which I spent away from the person who was, then, the love of my life up to that point.  I left that person with heavu footsteps, a heavier heart, and much left to say that could not be said at that time and place.  Thank you for posting this beautiful poem.

It was the best summer for

It was the best summer for me, too.  I learned that my identity was not dependent on who my parents were, and that my own thoughts and choices did not have to be theirs.  That is why it was so hard to leave and go up to college, a dorm school where I had to spend ten weeks apart from all that I had known and loved.  But that summer was still the best sunner I have ever experienced.

I was escaping a very toxic

I was escaping a very toxic relationship and needed a place to hide with my young daughter, it gave me breathing space

and a chance for me to live a proper life.  I can imagine how hard it was for you too. Experiences neither of us will forget. X

I really appreciate your

I really appreciate your words, and now I realize that the summer of 1976 was a kind of escape for me, as well.  I escaped my parents' toxic dictatorship, and the shame attached to my mundane name.  I learned more about myself that summer than in my seventeen years prior to that.  Thank you for helping me to look at it from another aspect.

I think much will be said about this awful year, but many of us won't wish to hear it. Take care, sue x

Nature Poems

Are good. 70 degrees today in Michigan. Covid, BLACK LIVES MATTER, Trump, death statistics, Biden, mail-in votes and recounts--Large books will be published about these 2020 events. Most people on earth don't read poli-sci or Econ-government history/biography/memoires. I don't - I should to find out what really happened :D
