you wanted to capture her heart

she was your perfect

so you courted and wooed

bought roses and won

she was yours

she was hesitent

she'd been hurt before

but you promised to take care of her

she trusted you

but you were fickle

and that's ok

you can't make yourself fall in love

you didn't want to hurt her

you know it

she knew it too

but it was going to happen

you couldn't get around it

she couldn't stop it

she can never stop it

but now you have to watch her

still getting hurt

but not by you anymore

and you've got to remember

all the tears she cried

all that pain she kept from you

and your stuck watching her

watching her get hurt again

and you can't stop it
