The stage is set for a new day

the light rises to begin

through the commotion you hear

"it's act 16, scene 8"

and people rush around

trying to find their lost minds

the players go through several

emotions offstage

sometimes the drama is so heavy

it makes you wish your life was

just a dream

most people want to collect autographs

for value and latter worth

but i don't want their autographs

i just want to talk to them

make 'em laugh

it's just like life and everyday

is a new scene in a great play

and each year of your life is a new act

and the climax isn't when you turn 40

and go back down the hill

it's when you find that one person

who changes your whole life

because they take you to a place

where you recline your soul

recreate your trust

and lose your heart

then you get so unsure of where

your play is going to go from there

but you do know that it only gets

BETTER

and when your play stops running

and the final curtain closes

at least you'll go out in the light

someone once said that

i had a bright future

and that meant a lot to me

not because it was said by them

but because it was said to me

but this is only a play

and i am just a player
