While walking down the road today
I saw an awful sight
a tiny mouse cought in a trap
oh what a painful plight
He cried as though his heart would break
and hugh tears streamed down his cheek
he lay upon his side out in the grass
so timid and so meek
He told me such a story
that only he could tell
while searching for some food this morn
he simply slipped and fell
and now he thought his life was o'er
for his little foot was broke
his tiny eyes were full of fear
and he trembled as he spoke
Well I could not let this mousie die
and I couldn't leave him there
and as I leaned down to turn him loose
he whispered this wee prayer
Please let this person turn me loose
I meant no harm or bad
I only searched for a bite to eat
and I'm just a simple lad
A tiny mouse so grey and old
with a face so small and sad
so I sprung the trap and set him free
for it simply made me mad
that folks would set a wicked trap
out in the deep green wood
to catch a tiny creature
so innocent and so good
So I took that mousie home with me
and he has a brand new home today
a match box filled with fluffy cotton
a soft place for him to stay
And I sat before him tiny chunks of cheese
upon a tiny plate
and he filled up his tiny tummy
cause he ate and ate and ate
Now he's curled up and fast asleep
in his small box safe and sound
guess I'll go make a pair of tiny crutches now
so he can get around
cute story. :)
cute story. :)
