A Touch

Not So Cute (G-PG)

Stuart Douglas Staub

Touched
And broken

Once forever seemed seeable
Now it is a handful of shattered mirror

When it was whole
It showed two
Now not even one
My reflection shivers away
When yours isn't there with it

Your hand touched mine
A mouthful of apologies pass
And you belong to another
And he to you

What I thought was sound
Had a fracture beyond my senses
And now the line is a chasm
The continents, shattered

I never would have thought
Something indestructible
Could be sundered with the breath of a touch

Touched
And broken

A very sad poem...but so touching. The depth of emotion that you project in just short, simple lines is phenonmenal. Beautifully written!

Absolutely beautiful. Almost made me shiver.. not just because it's freezing in here, but just .. a lot of emotion I guess. I can't really explain, but I can say I liked it and it was well done.
