You do not see tails danging
Limply from branches
On crisp fall evenings
They are not belly up
In the grass of our lawns
Snoring if they lay on their backs
Ask the ants; they'll know
Their snores to us a slight whisper
But to ants, a mighty roar
They do not just vanish
Perhaps they congregate secretly
A large scale rodent sleepover
Smarter than us? Maybe.
They're not susceptable to our view
Or vulnerable to predators
They have to sleep sometime
And I've never stumbled upon one
Slumbering on my stoop
All I can be sure of
Is that it is much easier
To hide when no one is looking for you
hey there. i like it. yep it's pretty awesome.
