A little literal
Like a forklift
Lifting a crate of forks
(Thanks Mitch)
Sometimes over the edge
A lack of imagination
Some call it
Maybe a stack of insecure
More accurate?
Picture confidence as a set
In a spaghetti western
Looks impressive from the front
But damn if that plywood ain't flimsy
Shaking elm is still just timbers
Let the tremor slide
It's the things you can't see
That do the most damage
When the brace cracks
Imperceptably
It's just as broken as if it had been hatcheted
But it's trying oh so hard
Too hard
The strain will win
So how to remake strength?
More cheese than a cheese shop
Figuratively speaking, of course
That quaint motion of brushing teeth
Mocking but amused
Words to curl toes and redden ears
In their truth comes
A backbone of titans
The arms of Atlas
And a heart like mine
All for you
