Angels
It is not often that people take the time,
to thank you for all the hard work you do.
Each day you risk your life,
to save the lives of others.
You get thousands of different calls to respond to,
not knowing what each will bring.
Yet you are always there, always brave,
and forever do your best.
Most of you have a family to come home to after work,
yet every morning you still wake up,
and say good-bye to come to work,
not knowing if you will return.
Your job is not an easy one.
and sometimes people dont treat you the way they should.
Instead they make your job harder.
I wish they would take the time to see how hard you work,
and the committment you put into work eachday,
to see that our streets and lives are safe.
I believe you are all heroes in your own way,
and deserve so much respect.
I know there are some who hate you and may talk bad,
but they dont understand you are only doing your job.
They dont understand what its like,
to be in the shoes of an officer.
I admire you all and look up to you.
The dedication that you have for your job,
the bravery in all that you do,
but most of all the committment that you have,
towards what you do.
your authority is one that I admire and respect.
If it werent for you all I wouldnt feel safe,
and no one would be safe or protected at all.
but most of all this world,
would be more out of control then what it already is.
You have probably touched so many lives,
that you dont even know about.
So many children look up to you,
and want to be just like you.
I'd love to do what you do,
but I dont think I'd ever have the bravery to do so.
You are all important and special,
and are not only heroes but angels.
May you always be safe and stay strong.
