Dream World



Darkness around me

Thick as fog

Insects a crawlin’

I tripped on a log



I lost my balance

And fell to the ground

I banged my head hard

Couldn’t make a sound



They were still after me

I had to stay low

What did they want?

I still didn’t know



And I didn’t want to find out

I just had to get away

Before I fell victim

Before I fell prey.



I heard thumping footsteps

Heavy rustling through the trees

I saw the figure

I dropped to my knees



It was more of a shadow

In the shape of a man

I paused and thought

I came up with a plan



I threw a stone as far as I could

To act as a distraction

The footsteps stopped

Right… now…ACTION!



I got up and sprinted

Or at least tried to

“why aren’t I moving fast?”

Like I was running through glue



The figure looked over at me

And followed in a chase

I couldn’t make ground

Running at walking pace



He got closer and closer

And reached out his arm to grab me

The moment of impact

I..I was free



My eyes opened up

I was laying in bed

Sweat was trickling

Down my confused head



I looked around my room

After sitting up in panic

Thank god it was just a dream

My thoughts must be manic
