What Kind Of Animal, Indeed
I do not minimize the recent tragedy at all.
But the question is not restricted to this one instance. What kind of animal brutally assaulted a beautiful boy, beating him so ferociously that his life expired a couple of days after the incident?
What kind of animal sent six million innocents to the gas chambers, and the burned them in industrial-sized ovens?
What kind of animal charged his fellow revolutionaries with false accusations in order to discredit, torture, and murder them?
What kind of animal lurked in the shadowed streets of Whitechapel, in London, and murdered five whores---brutally mutilating and dismembering the last victim, to the point her face was unrecognizable?
What kind of animal had early Christians arrested, then covered them with pitch, hoisted them up on posts, and set them aflame (a very slow, agonizing burn) in order to light his gardens for evening banquets and parties?
But I will admit, one race has a particular monopoly on this kind of heinous behavior: a lazy, envious, hectoring, unsatisifed and ungrateful race; a race of lazy sluggards, too proud to admit their limitations and too selfish to respect the rights of others, and the courtesies owed to those others. That would be, in answer to all the questions above, the human race.
By genetics, I descend from a high school whore and a murderer. By adoption, I descend from Celtic Christians, British gentry, and New England bureaucrats and patriots. And none of that is worth a tinker's bent tin when I stand before Christ's throne, Christ, the only Authority Whose opinion and judgement really matter to me. At His throne, the only bloodline that matters is His, and if it has been imputed to me by Grace through Faith. And it has;
the Bible tells me so; His Bible tells me so.
