On The Misinterpretation Of John Milton's Epic Poem, *Paradise Lost*

Even Christ said he came to this world to serve;

to that all of us are born, not being better than Him.

Milton's devil obsessed verbosely over a whim

after taking a dive that followed a moral swerve.

By the damage he does to our world we are appalled,

and the judgement of him will not be any way stalled.

But even Milton made a silly theologic error,

by giving the devil a throne in Hell, from there

to rule; that is false---he is the prince of the air,

and from that place he ripples his wake of terror;

and like unrepentant people, he will reap what he has sowed,

The Devil knows, and is even wrathfully aware

that God, through His Christ, has charge of the rule of Hell

(the devil is quite aware of that, and knows it well);

He rules it, though it can never be His abode.
