Telegraph wires stop
humming, to scream as they bear
one word (Moscow to

one efficient word---"Proceed . . ."

Author's Notes/Comments:

The murdered---martyred---Romanovs were brutally slain on July 17th, 1918.  I have suggested elsewhere that Lenin's revolutionary activity and his imposition of Marxism on the Russian people was, ultimately for him, only a means to the end for which he had striven almost all of his adult life:  to carry out a vendetta of vengeance against the Romanovs, for the execution of his brother, which had been ordered by the previous Czar, Alexander III.

Along with the Czar and his wife, their four adolescent daughters and barely pubescent son were brutally executed in the celler of a house that had been given the ominous name of "The House Of Special Purpose" (which, I say again, was Lenin's special purpose after his brother was strung up by the previous Czar).  The executioners also murdered the several servants who had elected to remain with the Romanovs; they also killed Alexei's dog.

Although the Orthodox Church has canonized the Romanovs, I believe the Russian people---the vast majority of whom are not (if I understand correctly) Orthodox Christians---have not offered sufficient repentence and remorse for the murder of the Romanovs.  That is why Putin can engage in brutal slaughter in the Ukraine, because the sold soul of Bolshevism still haunts the Kremlin.
