I should like to acknowledge an episode of The Twilight Zone entitled "The Passersby," one of the finest episodes because of the great Serling's superlative scripting.  The episode was not specific to the Battle of Gettysburg, but its inclusion of President Lincoln, at its conclusion, has never failed to move me almost to tears.  I was not thinking of the episode when I wrote the poem, but, since I also bring Lincoln into it, I though that Serling's script should be acknowledged.
