@ 27.055 MHz: Ad Astra; Coming To Monkeytree Station

Waterstop is scheduled, at Monkeytree Station.  The

locomotive begins to slow, then to resist the

forward motion of the coupled coaches it has been

pulling; old brakes squeal, connectors crash together as the

train sides on to the spur, then to the waiting water tower.

Dismal desolation dominates all horizons and dimensions that

somehow center on the delapidated depot that is

Monkeytree Station---like a haunted site from the

seepage of sepia out of a silent movie eleven decades agp.

Yet, as you step down to the platform, you find your lover---

long-haired, shirtless, clad in baggy beige cargos, barefoot.

He leads you to an occluded corner; there you nuzzle the

cords of his muscuar neck with your eager kisses, as the

whistle shrieks to announce departure, but the profusion of

his sweetness is released to you, achieving splashdown,  in the

exquisite and erotic vivification

coming, through you and your lover, into Monkeytree Station.

Author's Notes/Comments:

I was reading Tumbleweed's "Rattlesnake" sequence when my meds unfortunately kicked in and, having finished the third entry, I slipped into an afternoon sleep.  The first line of my poem was delivered to me by a dream; and, upon waking, I wanted to write a poem in the highly evocative style (as I understand it) of Tumbleweed,  I dedicate my humble attempt to this fine Poet on postpoems.

I apologize to all who read

I apologize to all who read the original posting for the typos I let slip by.   In explanation, I was very ill---so I found out later---and nearly bled to death internally.  A hematoma on my left flank remains to remind me of all the blood I lost.  Hence, several poems, posted lately, may have typos in them.  I correct them as I can.  Please let me know if you see any:  I will fix those with priority.

You captured Tumbleweed's

You captured Tumbleweed's artistry with dazzling finesse; amazing that your imagination continued to shine through even when sedated. I can't string two coherent lines together when I'm heavily medicated.

This is a finely-woven addition to your Ad Astra series. I'm hoping I'll have the pleasure of reading more when you're feeling better. Take care of yourself. God bless.
