+ 27.225 MHz: The Sin That Doth So Easily Beset . . . Me
[after Hebrews 12:1]
Two-sided is my sin:
one face of it is pride, the other lust.
But Jesus shows me I need not give in
to its beckoning, nor fall to it again;
but set it, with resolve, aside
(though it be monstrously intrusive and snide).
Its eruptions always seem to coincide
with moments when I am most spiritually weak;
but then from my Bible's pages, His Words speak---
that His Grace's sufficiency
can relieve even such as me;
that I am sheltered in His strength,
and in His Hands' security,
safe there for what remains of my life's length.
