Melodies XLIX; A Glimpse Of NecroQuery, Grimoirist

Have you heard the sad tale of NecroQuery---

who hearing of his enemy's death, offered to bury

that radical poet's stiff and stinking cadaver

in a most obscure place, with the least palaver.

NecroQuery hoped his foe would soon be forgotten

in that unmarked grave, a corpse well covered and rotten.

But much to NecroQuery's shame, and much against his intent,

the dead man's admirers raise over his tomb a towering monument.

Author's Notes/Comments:

NecroQuery (whose name, being derived from the Greek language, would more properly carry a "K" instead of a "C") wrote a grimoire, entitled, Saturatis Afflictione Et Miseria.
