it focuses me on Christ, Who has made me whole;
not subject for boast, or present a claim
upon the shimmering of hollow fame;
(let me be decreased and Christ increased in my soul).
Skeptics. haters. and merchants of profanation
sought to cast upon it a pointed shame
(with uncouth remarks of fierce crudity):
but I embraced it, in full,
with gratitude and eagerly
confirmed in this life's late stage, the last appellation
signed to my poetry.
Yes, I am Starward . . . call me Starward. I have striven
to liive in, through, and for the Orthodox Christian Faith,
wherein is found the joy of the Common Salvation,
which is and shall be my soul's chiefest exultation,
among Christ's redeemed---the Orthodox Church, that great congregation.
