Class, Or Classless, Clown

He does not have enough to do;

so he gives us laughs---and not a few.

His repetitious, shrill pretension

takes place in only one dimension.

Of truth, he has no apprehension;

especially this one too dim

for his mind---that we dislike him.

Our laughter, even when guts bust,

emerges from distinct disgust.

Thank you for the compliment,

Thank you for the compliment, and I most sincerely hope I have not offended you.  The class clown I had in mind, who was a consistent presence among us through all twelve years of school (in a very small town, so the class population was small) was also a bully and a thug.  I doubt that you were ever like that.

But if the poem is in any way offensive to you, I would gladly delete it:  you tell me.
