A Christian and a Poet, I am flawed,
and sometimes best intentions---mine---have stalled.
If I have failed to thank you, or reply
to some comment you posted on my verse,
I did not mean to make a personal
affront or to act rude, uncouth, or dull.
I am absent-minded and that prevails
sometimes; and sometimes my computer fails
to make an adequate delivery
of notifications sent out to me.
Even my former friend and befouled foe
may understand how imperfections flow . . .
and how they gather, and how they disperse,
and how they can imply discourtesy.

What a gracious and heartfelt
What a gracious and heartfelt apology. I'm guilty of this myself, especially when I'm dealing with some personal crisis. This poem is a great idea to resolve those very understandable oversights.
Thank you very much. And I
Thank you very much. And I found a comment of yours on a poem of mine from back in April, and I had failed to acknowledge it. But I did correct that a little earlier tonight.

We're all human and I think
We're all human and I think we all miss a few comments and thank yous along the way. We just have to keep striving to make ourselves better.
Thank you. I am often guilty
Thank you. I am often guilty of being too full of my own concerns to acknowledge a kindness, and, at this late stage of life and facing some continuing medical decline, I thought it was high time to ask forgiveness. But thanks for commenting with such empathy.
