[for two early Christians, believers:
Kaisarion, Ptolemey XV; and Neaniskos;
Matthew 2:1 and Mark 16:5]
Good health and my two legs' mobility
have disappeared like some transparent wraith;
but I know Christ has not abandoned me:
and this affliction finds utility,
its purpose, to achieve delivery---
(despite my body's subtle perfidy)---
of elevated spirituality
closer to early Christianity;
as earthly prospects are propelling me
starward toward Christ in Whom my destiny---
is: saved in Him, sanctified eternally.
Heaven's joys give my local misery
new meaning on which faith and hope agree;
and I proclaim it in this poetry---
the fellowship of the mystery,
and the grandeur of its spirituality.
Starward
