deters this species from what

it will inflict on itself.



Author's Notes/Comments: 

The great Tanka poet Mokichi Saito lengthened the Tanka form, from time to time, with a sixth line.  On that precedent, I have lenghtened this one, and some others, although my habit is to follow the more classical and proper form.
