The light, flashed, is not
creative but destructive;
the blast's roar echoes
this statement: not even death
deters this species from what
it will inflict on itself.

Author's Notes/Comments:
The great Tanka poet Mokichi Saito lengthened the Tanka form, from time to time, with a sixth line. On that precedent, I have lenghtened this one, and some others, although my habit is to follow the more classical and proper form.
