Christians are called, commanded, to love

not to hate---not even to hate evil;

for only our Sovereign God and His Christ

have the right to root up the tares from the wheat;

the wheat has neither claim nor right to do this.

Even righteous hatred doubles back

upon the self-righteous hater;

beating its retreat, it mounts an attack

on the hater's soul---usually sooner than later.

Distanced from the destructive compression of a lightless neutron star . . . .
