When Satan's best intern has brought diverse temptations---

falsehoods, deceptions, and self-righteous accusations---

I look to the advice of Jesus' servant, James,

not to stoop the tempter's level, but rejoice

at this most paradoxical of confirmations

(never mentioned in the adversarial voice)

that Grace, received by faith believing, sealed my choice;

of the fellowship of the mystery,

and the grandeur of its spirituality.
