These stories of stark terror that you tell
are keen reminders to appreciate
this Age of Grace that we enjoy of late.
The horrors you describe (nor will abate
to please a critic's temper) have unfurled
monstrosities in service to this world,
or to its prince; or else, anticipate
phantoms that represent real pain in Hell.
Mankind, whose pride is always quick to strut.
must learn, at times, from some plain opposite
of Grace and fellowship. Fear and despair,
monsters and ghosts, are metaphors that bear
a warning that the anguish of damnation
awaits those who do not accept Salvation.
