"reinforced (therefore opaque) where snags might run;
"with elegance like a seam for those who care to look twice."
"Better shoeless than not,
"never much taken by momentary fashions;
"supplying soft satisfactions to suppliant senses---
"the soul's sighs sound in sibilance of syllables."
