Saved I have been . . . saved by a Living Lord.
I have received life through His gracious accord---
given escape from my baser self---as from a trouble some wraith,
comforted in the words compiled by the stellaring faith.
Lord Jesus: I pray, as I begin to die,
to be spared that last, and most dire, temptation;
and soaring, starward, toward the Heavenly
Kingdom of unending, jubilant exultation.
I look to You, and unto You, let come my cry.
I thank You, Lord, in offered poetry,
for the Orthodox Faith, the Common Salvation,
which is and shall always be my soul's chiefest exultation
among the redeemed of the great congregation;
as well as my Prayer Rope's starward inclination.
These, together, are my foremost delectation,
and I offer thanks especially
for Your assurance of Mercy, in infinite abundancy,
(that conquers and removes all human perfidy
and all the spectres of temptation).
Brethren: let us praise His Mercy, continuously;
His Mercy in which we are kept throughout eternity.
