Nuances: Precipitation Remembered

Receding, rain clouds;
Saturday sunlit again
as we waited for
Shock Theater:  how we loved
those Universal monsters.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Universal's horror films:  the golden age, beginning with Dracula, 1931, and ending with Son of Frankenstein (Karloff's last film as the Monster), 1939; and then the Silver Age, which ended with House of Dracula (a kind of poetic circularity) in 1945.  I was forbidden to watch Shock Theater, from 1963 50 1965 (except for rare surreptitious glimpses, or parental exceptions), but permitted from 1966 until around 1971 when it was withdrawn from the broadcast.
