Dear God



Thank you for

the gift you give

I promise to cherish it

as long as I will live

thank you for

getting me out of

things that I've been through

and always giving me love

you given me so much

in so many ways

you've given me a breath of sun

on the rainy days

and who said

that is when your crying

all your gifts are beautiful

they must be lying

I would never look past you

you give me all I need

you pull my heart through

everytime it bleeds

even though I dont always show it

you know I believe in you

I know that you exist

I understand everything you do

you've given me my friends

you've given me family

you've given me my one true love

and thats what made me see

I finally understand you God

you gave me a chance

you are the one who made me

you've shown me how to dance

everything I have is yours

your everthing I hold

because you created all of it

you make me shine like gold

I didnt think  I always knew

but its been there all along

you've given me the gift of love

the will to go on

life has been rough at times

it hasnt been easy

I've fixed things the best I could

I hope your proud of me

I know you were there

whispering the words on my shoulder

you give so much

a birds song, rain on the window, a kittens purr

I thank you for

all the love

that you've sent down

from way up above

I hope I am with you someday

with all the gifts you've handed down

my one true love, family, and all the friends

I will stand with them glowing in my gown

the angels will smile and sing a chorus

I'll know I am with you finally

everyone I love will walk me into heaven

everyone will be with me

I thank you God

every single night

you hear me out

shine down your light

Thank you God

as I say goodnight

to you once more

as I turn out the light

I will be forever

forever in your grace

I wont do wrong to you

I will never disgrace

because I dont want to lose

any of this love
