Sentenced to a lifetime of humanity, I stumbled upon
This blue, hopeless world of grey, shapeless dreams;
Where spineless lifeforms lived and breathed to die,
Amidst the rusty rumblings of their infernal screams.
I met my saviour, an Angel with a crown of thorns
And a white heart as endless as His deep faith;
But He left me with empty silhouettes of dark years to come;
Locked on my bare knees, outside Heaven's gates.
The silhouettes sang that somewhere out there,
Is a clear blue sky full of smiles and stars,
For they won't ever know the thunders there
Were made of a thousand hellbound scars;
Where nightmares breathed life into the
Concrete chaos of hollow glory and shame,
Far below the fading neons, who would rather
Lose their lives than lose their name...
Even in that society of senseless sanity,
No demons did ever take my blame!
Very nice, I see you put some
Very nice, I see you put some thought and originality, and courage, into this work.

I consider myself a person of few words - so I'll leave it at - 'a wonderful read'.
'Far below the fading neons,
'Far below the fading neons, who would rather
Lose their lives than lose their name'
This is good. Very thoughtful, and an almost charming macabre outlook, in my opinion.

thank you for ur honest opinion :)
Many believe that the earth is Hell by comparison to heaven
our true home..... I see earth as a school. It is what you make of it. Some have awful memories of their school years and others it was a wonderful experience. You get from this earth what you put into it. If you wake up tomorrow feeling like the earth is a bad place and all in it are out to get you then that is what you will encounter. If you wake up believing there is a lot of good in this world and not all are bad but everyone has some goodness in their heart then you will encounter those sort. It's all to do with your own perception of things. I am sure you have heard the saying Perception is everything! Believe me it is. Certainly there are bad people in the world but we minimize their entrance into our lives and we step over them or get away from them in our search for the good ones. We come here and meet those whom we are meant to meet. If you meet a bad person you were meant to meet them cause their badness will teach your soul some better lesson that it needs to learn. Try thinking of it that way too. Bad things that happen to us happen to us for a reason the betterment of our souls and though we cannot see that at the time think of a bear in a trap. Some conservationists are trying to save that bear. The bear does not know that and would swat or bite them if they tried to remove its injured paw from that trap so they have to tranquilize it for its own safety and theirs but that bear doesn't know that it just thinks they are trying to hurt it. We as humans many many times are that bear ina trap we can't see what Good God is trying to do for us we only see the awful thing that is happening to us in the moment. That metaphor is what helps me in life the most. It is the most simple but the most clear cut. I thoroughly enjoyed your poem as well as the ones written by your critquer as well. Keep writing. sincerely Melissa Lundeen.
heartfelt thank you for ur
heartfelt thank you for ur insightful comment. u got it right...earth is often called the blue planet, n also the colour blue is associated with depression and sadness. however i would like to humbly point out that we arent any more what we were once actually meant to be, what actually the Lord intended us to be- human beings. this is a reflection on the same... i too believe in ur philosophy that "everything happens for a good reason", but sometimes you cant help but wonder what good comes out of some things we do- its like we just live only for the sake of living, not because we have a life to live...
also i would like to agree with you that the earth is indeed like a mirror, what we get is what we put into it...
thank you for ur wishes :)
