tragedy The way it is, is the way it is.
No amount of hoping and praying
will change the fact that
You and I though meant to be
missed our window of opportunity
You should have waited
But went and Chased obligation
when you should have lived instead
Had you waited for the day
that I would come
I'd have tamed your affliction
For the many you wanted
I become a different woman
Every night and constant everyday
What was there to do
When you held my gaze
And I laid eyes on you
You broke our agreement and
Rushed ahead. I stayed behind
We could have been so happy
But now were miles apart
A smile or a nod or two
From a cheated heart.
And cold indignation
From my broken one
Ceas' t la vie
That's the way life goes
When love is on the out posts.
And we fail to see the cost.

very heartfelt and eerily close to my experience. Admittedly, I have been on both sides of the fence and when you have been wronged and done wrong it gives you a peculiar perspective on love. Perhaps I shall write a poem about it............. Great job as usual!!

Nothing would feel as awful as the painful regret if I let down in a cruel way the one person who through time has proven what real love is. Then theres soul love... powerful stuff indeed...
