the whitening.

White, white,
whispers on the wind
Unattainable, unreachable,
unwanted.
Twisted and contorted,
scraped and scrubbed,
Scratched and scrawled
Cut, pierced and tanned.
Un-needed.
Hold thyne breath
Abreast mellow pickled skins
Tear stained fingertips
Walkng over blotted trails
fretts And struts upon
A bridge to hopelessness
Stringlined, Hung out, dried,
Fried syringelined lies.
Pill, spill and fill frolics
tarnish, pull and drown
In burbling fetid brown
Clean is a vague memory
Of ages ago innocence
Long since repressed,
gurgling in deathly halls
As the final straw is inhaled
The ghost like whisper
wanting whitening returns
Drinking stinking bleach
Wash and scrub till it bleeds
Paint won't work
red hands And heart
so white would shame
And stop to beat.
A blackened heart
can never be white.
Go on, go on, keep trying
The white whispers taunt
Fade it out,
Bleach it away
And try as you might
It only fades,
Fade to grey
