It's an odd day today
I don't feel cool,
or clever, or
Particularly inspired.

Its just a blasé day.
I went to the fridge
Didn't feel like eating
Anything on display.

It's new years day
My Son's birthday
And supposed to be fun
But the house chores
had to be done.

And I have so much
To be thankful for
But I just don't have anything
clever or cool or particularly
Inspired to say.

I guess I can't be those
things every minute
I need to sometimes relax
And try not to do more.

My brain works so hard at
This it must hate me for sure
I can't do maths
but I can do this
Sometimes well.

But today I didn't write
anything particularly
cool, clever or inspiring
And that's just fine.

My ego can wait
For another time.
