Victory Day

Half dirty shirt slung over the chair

My cup of coffee waiting for me in the morning air!

Dirty dishes lying in the sink

A charming smile and a cheeky wink!

Empty Toilet roll by the toilet seat

A love song serenade no one can beat!

Dandruff on the couch, the bed, the table, the floor

The way you look at me in awe

Washing piled high

How the good times fly

Dishevelled bed sheets

the most amazing treats and after work eats

Your hapless toilet misses

Your deep dreamy kisses

You mess with my mind, you do in my head

BUT, that warm feeling,  yeah,  that one in bed

And you know, the one when I love you is said!

Though I often wince

Victory day is the day we wed,

and evey other day since!

Author's Notes/Comments:

Stanley you're simply amazing and I know this poem doesn't meet up exactly because you never miss when you piss, and change the roll, do the dishes im still sending you this poem and all the best wishes

You're my trophy and I am a winner in love

But I only had 5 minutes and bedsides I practically make you a world champion every day! - Trixie

I cheered every line of this

I cheered every line of this refreshingly realistic poem that upends the fairy tales, reaches deep into what truly matters and left me feeling genuinely good and thinking: Yes! This is love!

A keeper.
