The song bird kept singing
The light of song filtered to the floor
Below my gaze to the mess
of fathers in the wilderness
Song bird listens in light and shade
In the forest where the other laid
Under every leaf and tree
Windy fingers through feathery debree
Singing out for one last reply
And the song bird keeps singing
The softest sweetest cry
the saddest song ever
Like nothing ever before
Like nothing ever before

You made me write a poem
After reading your fine poem.
I will put it out later.
My battery is low.

Read four times becauseitissobeautiful. The last two repeated lines ARE the songbird's song. Lovely solitude here. Hugz - allets -
