I'm gonna tell the world about your face
And how your special smile takes me to that place
Where only few have dared to tread or was brave enough to go
Lost now in miles of you off the beaten road
Maybe it was your smile or the beads around your neck
Or how your dress just seems to move as you twirl
Your bare feet in the mud or the way you laugh
I don't know for sure but I'm gonna tell the world
I'm gonna tell the world about your heart
And how you let me in it from the very start
I'd have to crazy or maybe quite insane
To let you walk alone in the pouring rain
Maybe it was your smile or the beads around your neck
Or how your dress just seems to move as you twirl
Your bare feet in the mud or the way you laugh
I don't know for sure but I'm gonna tell the world
I'm gonna tell the world about your eyes
There's more beauty there then what's in the skies
The way you opened up and came undone
When I ran my finger through your hair and you lit up the sun
Maybe it was your smile or the beads around your neck
Or how your dress just seems to move as you twirl
Your bare feet in the mud or the way you laugh
I don't know for sure but I'm gonna tell the world
I'm gonna tell the world how you look at me
And the craziness of it all is that you just don't see
I'm gonna tell the world what's always been true
On any given day I'm in love with you
Maybe it was your smile or the beads around your neck
Or how your dress just seems to move as you twirl
Your bare feet in the mud or the way you laugh
I don't know for sure but I'm gonna tell the world

I usually do not care for
I usually do not care for poems that feature imperfect rhymes (like twirl/world) but I sure will make an exception for this beautiful love poem. However, I do not understand the attribution to Darin Haffner. Are these his words or yours? I just want to know to whom I should submit this comment, to acknowledge the beauty of this excellent poem.

Explanation
Thank you for your compliment on the words. Darin s an old friend of mine who wrote the first verse but got stuck. I wrote the rest of it. When I told him I wanted to put it music he gave me his blessing to use his verse.
