Ruby Bridges
My bridge has been made of Rubies/
I didnt see the rubies nor did i know their value at
first/
Until the day i began to soully thrist/
And grasph for soul from this dirty rap/
I began to re-call my peoples struggles and clap/
Because I knew my life couldnt fit into one rap/
Like a present made by a child of lost Asian parents/
consumed by children of cracked out and lost negros/
There he goes again/
samboing his way to economic freedom/
So he thinks, so he feels/
A benz is his fortune, the ghettos his wheel/
Sony and Disney reaches out and spins/
around and around it goes/
where it stops only the CIA knows/
It stops where the crack flows/
underminding the strength and courage of the young/
Another bigotted way to say blacks dont belong/
and if we choose to stay they will make us into
examples/
Steal our culture, and feed us wailing bafoons/
By my bridge isn't made up of Jay-Z and lil Johns/
It's made of last poets, Chucks Ds and KRS ONES/
James Browns, Peaches and Herbs and Isaac Hayes/
Those that remember our people and used air waves to
create real ways
for us to remember and take care our own/
Not forget the Ruby Bridges and replace courage with
ignornace/
So that guns slinging crack peddling CIA puppets/
could be manipulated to interrupt this/
Progress
i refuse to degress
And uproot hope
More After these messages
Saddam Hessiem was just hung after a month ago i
Predicted he would/
But who will hold the bush adminstration accountable
for the illegal
deaths of
innocent Iraqis/
Who will hold the Bush adminstration accountable for
the countless
number of
deaths in New Orleans while
While Condelezza whore watched with a cold heart.
Who ever thought that such an innocent legecy would
lead to a total
sellout/
Even before i was born I thought that the civil rights
and Black power
movement
would be a bailout/
It's time to push back, cieze the time rebuild again/
like Ruby in Rockwell's painting walking in a crowd of
strangers with
faith/
There is no time waste, we all must be educated to be
self liberated/
in our past we find strength and the will to rebuild
again/
I will walk the bridge of Rubies into my senior years/
Even if my home becomes a school it will be diverse/
freedom, truth, sharing is what we'll reherse/
So that one day tyrany will be put in reverse/
