Pieces

Pieces of me

Pieces of you

Somewhere along the way

One became two

And two became one

When I looked deep inside of you.

Look deep inside of me

Touch the black and blue

Tell me all those silly things

I already knew.

I want to touch your face

Burn a hole right through

To the deepest parts of anything

Deep inside of you

So you can feel me deep inside

Someplace you drew

Back behind some safe wall

I couldn’t possibly break through.

Break yourself into a million bits

And scatter them amidst the dew

Lay yourself among the blades-

I’ll lay myself there, too

Just to feel you lying there

Feel the pieces of you

Just to see you holding me

To every piece of you

Just to hear you telling me

Baby, I Love You.

Author's Notes/Comments:

I no longer remember just why I wrote this poem, or even who it may be about.  It is funny how life seems to, all fall into a jumble after awhile....
