A Drunk And Broken Heart

Folder:
Blah

I looked out yonder there

To the world I could not see

I thought I saw you standing there

Looking back at me

But rather you were elsewhere

Singing love songs to the moon

With his fingers going through your hair

Now I'm singing a different tune

Than the sweet love song I had sung

That day I first looked at you

Now this liquor bottle that I've flung

Has slowly become two

But that was yesterday, it seems

So now two is three or four

The bottles pass me by in teams

So I think I'll have some more

Just to pass the day away

Just to pass the night

I think I forgot just what to say

At such a sorry sight

For I've become that miserable loser

I thought I'd never be

And the barkeep asks, "another, sir?"

And I say, "how bout three?"

So you see this sad position

That I am in today

If only you had been there to listen

Then maybe I'd have left here yesterday.

i surprisingly enough never read this one before...i have no idea why but oh well. its a great poem and it captures all the emotion well, and it made me so sad...you should write more though, you're a great writer and i miss reading all your poems.
