Alone I walk,
Through my life,
Carrying my burden,
Pain, anger, and strife.
My past behind me,
But constantly there,
A bitter reminder,
Of how little people care.
The warm touch of happiness,
More valuable than gold,
Long ago left me,
Leaving me cold.
I awake each day,
Hoping to strive,
Having one goal,
That to survive.
Alone I walk,
Through the years,
Carrying with me,
Sadness without tears.
