IN REMEMBERANCE OF 9/11

The fateful day,
All will remember,
When the world was shocked,
On the eleventh of September.

The sight that was seen,
None could believe,
Two planes now missiles,
What monster could conceive?

Choking smoke,
From twin spire aflame,
Each building shuddering,
From it’s weakening frame.

The blinding dust,
As the towers fell,
A total nightmare,
An earthly hell.

Atop the rubble,
Heroes three,
Raised the flag,
For all to see.

This is written
In remembrance of all
Lost innocent and heroes
Who answered the call.

Author's Notes/Comments:

this is what you might call the second version of this poem as the original handwritten one has been misplaced and has been done from memory...I will post the original when and if I can find it.
