Night comes and lays waste to the day
I have hidden myself
Not to breach the opening across the room
This marks the beginning
This is what I assume
As shadows cast through the windows
Flickering from the clouds crossing the moon
I slip slowly into my bed
Comfort is less noticeable
But the sights and sounds are more distinguishable
I further long for the comfort of a friendly voice
To be enveloped by the touch of a loved one …
Forever remembered as I recall the tales
That took refuge in the place where I dwell
Beasts wait patiently for me to sleep
Demons hover above to see me weep
Things that give proof
Sit upon every shelf in my room
Which soon will be my tomb
All things linger
Between these walls
Conjured in my thoughts
Never let me be
Careful to close my eyes when I go to sleep
One light left
So I can stare
To pass peaceful without a care
A heavy stillness looms
In the darkness of my room
Wait silently for a friend
For if their late I might be dead
Or sleeping peacefully in my bed
This is very powerful...
