And She Stands Alone

When everyone is gone,

and the books are lost and rusted,

she will stand alone looking at photos freshly dusted.

She will remember when children filled the desk,

and they looked at graded tests,

and wondered who in class made the best.

She will live her life alone,

but full of memories unknown,

and she will stand alone.

She will be the only one,

who can really teach your son,

the lessons in life before he has really begun.

But yet she stands alone.

So for this I will not let my feeling hide,

for this she should have much pride,

And she will stand alone.
