is a guest in our house.
It is said that he always
arrives with two helpers
tho' I've yet to see them.
As is the custom in a
South Indian Brahmin family
the guests are given water
to wash their feet, hands, face
and mouth; then off to a scrumptious
meal. A brief discussion on life or
a prayer while they rest - this is
where one gets comfortable and
all others rattle. Everyone cries
when it is time for the guest to leave;
we send him off with a present, love.
Flood gates open on the departure;
somehow details of one great visit
continue to be shared around till
another family or friends come to tell us
their story. I hear he travels near and far
but manages to visit us on a regular basis.
