The Search

Will the stage after this life ends be wholly different?

What would be the point if it were to be the same?

Why is knowing these answers impossible? Why are we denied access?

Would knowing the answers somehow ruin this life?

Would humanity behave differently if we had definitive proof?

I wonder these things as I contemplate my own faith and beliefs.

I wonder if contemplating these things is a pursuit drawing me away

From the present moment, robbing me of my existence in this life.

It does seem a grevious waste to contemplate what comes after

This life and to not simply enjoy it while I am able.

It seems the solution is to stop contemplating these unanswerables

And hope that these answers reveal themselves

The way a word that was on the tip of my tongue

Suddenly comes to mind sometime after giving up the Search.
