Awaken

Sometimes, all one has to do is write.

Start that opening line, and see what comes about.

Somewhere out there, in that dark stormy sea,

Sits the possibility, that is this, or that, poem.

Slowly, steadily, It will revel in its own reveal.

It is there, all one has to do is stumble upon it.

Imagine yourself as knowledge, out there,

In the inert nothing… waiting.

Indeed, the light of an exploring mind,

Incessantly, would obsess your dreams.

Now see yourself, finally bathed in such light.

Not unlike a castaway, seeing sooty smokestacks.

Nothing could compare, spare one’s own awakening,

Not only into consciousness, but into life itself.

Notice that knowledge, once found, can be lost again.

Given that, perhaps It knows of life and death.

Ghost one moment, poem the next, and back again.

Ghouls, reincarnated a million times over the millennia.

Give It, and yours, Its best shot. Start that opening line.

Grant a poem, permission to be.

Just write

This really spoke to me after my long break from writing I have finally found words again, enchanted by this write.

Thanks!

I was in a writer's block myself when that first line came to mind,

and all of a sudden this piece came out of it.

Glad I inspired you to create!

We'll just keep writing 'til there's nothing left to write.

We'll just keep waiting 'til they read all our works left to right.

I agree, When a concept/idea

I agree,

When a concept/idea comes to me,

the writing experience flows smoothly,

the lines appear as if wanting to be written.

But, sometimes they like to play hide

and seek with a poet and this was

one of those times.
