Game of Life

An oaken battlefield and a bouncing cannon ball.

Tools of soldiers in a small deathless war,

Upholding oath and allegiance sworn:

A temporary, though sacred, loyalty and fealty

Not to one but to one another.

Where you can give your all and still go home.

Here the lines which should not be crossed

Are blatantly clear, and the penalties not so cruel.

A simple reset, and a chance to try again.

Here the objective and the meaning of it all

Is well known, and all aid in its achievement.

A simple explanation to answer: Why?

Here deceit and betrayal can only happen

In the open, the perpetrator always seen.

For once the rules are clear, the playing field leveled,

And the outcome determined by your own hand.

The end, as in all things, is inevitable.

Its face unveiled, its arrival foreseen.

If only this game we call life,

Could be played more like this one.

Thanks once more to you Mr.

Thanks once more to you Mr. Bishu for taking the time to read,

and for encouraging my efforts.

We'll just keep writing 'til there's nothing left to write.

We'll just keep waiting 'til they read all our works left to right.
