untitled

Smoking outside, I stare.
Of course the door opens.
A smile is all I dare.

Us both smoking outside, heaven.
It's so nice to be alone together,
the minutes pass fast, exactly seven.
We're so close, I feel there's a tether.

Back inside, we exchange a glance
filled with passion and desire.
Sweet touches and words every chance,
I want you so bad I'm on fire.

If only I could have convinced myself,
everything would have been fine.
But I locked my heart on a shelf.
Something happened; you lost your shine.

Smoking outside, all alone.
Solemnly staring at the door.
Had no idea I'd be so prone
to the pain. Tears begin to pour,
if only he was here.

excellent rendering

of a love that is ending...
just a suggestion, poems are always personal, so you don't have to have a title if you don't want or need one...
but I'd call this beautiful piece “ if only”

stay safe
be happy
Peace
Dylan
