Cavern

A pause for all the loneliness

That wells within him now

As he sits so still and stoic

With the shades drawn apart

Listening to the evening chirps

Waiting on a sign of change

Longing for a passing thing

To shake him from his apathy

He feels guilt and tries to sleep

But only tosses from the noise

He plugs his ears and wakes to find,

He still can hear so clearly

Wishing all his time away

Losing sense of self and worth

Hating who he is and was

Detaching from his clearest eye

He cannot wit your ancient tongue

He has no beauty which to flaunt

He falls apart when faced with doubt

He chooses to remain the same

Youth is as it's wont to do

Thrashing in fit of gloom

It fills the room with hellish weight

Seeping in his mind so heavy

Dreams of death and quiet needs

That eat until he's hollowed out

And when the caverns are complete

They'll name them after no one.
