Maybe I try too hard,

I pushed things on you.

I was only trying to keep our friendship,

if you only knew.

I can see it in your emotions,

all this commotion.

Maybe I should'nt have put in my heart

in all this heartfelt devotion.

Realize I haven't had very many friends in life,

I have had a lot of trouble and strife.

But now I know how to back off,

but now I fear it's too late.

Too late to give me a clean slate.

But for a friendship I'll go more than a yard,

and that is why I try too hard.
