I long for you as I long for the stars

Ever reaching, but far from the touch.

My heart soars on wings of air

Every time you say hello

For then I know you are thinking of me.

What is this feeling inside?

Could it be the love I've dreamed of

for all the years I've been alive?

Ever dreaming of my fairy tale ending,

I find myself hoping it is with you.

My heart beats fast,

quick as the moth drawn to a flame.

My movements seem slowed,

a slow-motion dream of bliss.

I cherish each moment I spend with you

knowing they could be my last.

My little world of loneliness

has become this warm place

full of the light you make me feel.

Not a moment goes by

that I do not think of you.

Hopelessly entangled in you,

I never wish to break free!

I long for love as I long for the moon,

always it is out of reach.

I only hope you will be there,

to catch me when I fall from the sky.

I only hope that someday

you will love me too.

Though you don't know it,

I see you as my knight in shining armor.

Maybe I can be your damsel in distress

and you will rescue me from my solitude

where we can live our lives together

in a happily ever after.
